1. Try on an old pair of jeans, chalk the mark of your desired length (use a ruler).

2. Cut along the chalked line with fabric scissors on a flat surface.

3. Brush sandpaper along the edge to create a frayed look.

4. Use your fingers to pull on and tease the loose threads.
